Guess who's back. Yes, me. I had to take a sabbatical, but the Intention Repeater never stops sparking interest and is ever-deserving of attention.
I have been contemplating the issue of the IR not using up memory according to the Task Manager on Windows. Initially, I thought that the Task Manager was wrong, but this is not the case. Rather, Windows seems to cut off the memory usage altogether if it is too high.
Though various complexities are involved, I did manage to standardize a method to ensure the IR uses the amount of memory it is supposed to. This works on my computer -- I'd like to know if it works for you too. To check, open the Task Manager by the key combination Ctrl + Shift + Esc. Keep an eye out for the process called "intention_repeater_max" or, in my case, "intrpt".
Here's how:
Open a Command Prompt in the same folder.
Your intention MUST be 15 characters or less.
For the memory parameter, you must deduce approximately 1/4th of the amount of physical RAM on your device. Then you must multiply this number by 2.
For example, on my computer, the amount of physical RAM is 8 GB. 1/4th of that is 2 GB. That multiplied by 2 is 4 GB. Thus, 4 GB is the amount of memory to use with the IR.
Here's the command: intention_repeater_max -m GB -c white -i "INTENTION HERE WHICH MUST BE LESS THAN 15 CHARACTERS"
If you're using Holo-Link, the file name is already less than 15 characters.
Now, check in the Task Manager and make sure that it is indeed using the amount of RAM you specified divided by 2 (i.e. 25% of your physical RAM). On my PC that is 2 GB, since that is 1/4th of the 8 GB I have and I specified 4 GB.
