The light you see when you die is a reincarnation trap. It will force you to come back to Earth. But it has been dismantled. Still, I wouldn't trust the Light.

Ra does state that reincarnations are automatic, until the heart chakra or green ray energy center begins to activate.
So if the law of one is accurate it isn’t until one learns to love that they are no longer subject to the seniority system of reincarnation. Then instead gaining more agency in deciding when and where to reincarnate.
Also those beings who touch intelligent infinity can choose when to return to source at any point in their spiritual evolution.

There is no time limit per se. However, the magnetic pull from the reincarnation trap may be too strong to resist for many souls. So it's best to "withdraw quickly" moving backwards until the trap begins flickering like a poorly functioning hologram, finally fading away.
At some point your Divine Inner Self (what other sources call Higher Self) will shine from inside you, this time he will properly introduce himself to you, and what happens next is between you two.
Reincarnations as far I know aren't automatic and have never been. Even if they were unless your "green ray" is activated, countless souls are ancient in age and have experienced thousands, hundreds of thousands or even millions of lifetimes overall, and it's very likely that they learned to love in at least one of them.
