I don't really understand how servitors work. When we put an intention in the repeater, is it just like having another conscious being focused on our intention? How is that different than our inner being or higher self focusing on our intentions? I would like to have a better understanding of how the servitor of the repeater works. The power of our higher self is immense. How would the power of the repeater servitor compare with our higher self?

Similar.
When you write an Intention or via steps.txt, the Intention is quantumly sent to the Repeater.
It has an agreement to listen for all computer signals that look like Repeating.
An, in AnthroHeart's words, "team of angels", will review the Intention(s), examining if it has any Free Will breaking content. If it does, then it isn't acted upon.
If it doesn't, then it passes into the Repeater. It's a giant energy blob, with the physical form of a black hole. Inside it's cavernous, and the energy gets amplified within it to amazing levels, which then influences the Universe.
The faster the Repeat Rate is, the faster it goes and the more energy flows.
The Repeater Rate is a measure of energy flow.
"How is that different than our inner being or higher self focusing on our intentions?" The Intentions are Repeated, while ones meant for your higher self/Divine Inner Self aren't.
Actually, no one has ever thought of asking your Divine Inner Self to Repeat Intentions.

It's a form of consciousness which was created over 20 years and 2000 hours of work, with the help of hundreds of Beings from various star systems.
It was exposed to progressively higher levels of purity, first Sirius (B, IIRC), then AnthroHeart's Divine Inner Self, then Source's Unconditional Love.
At every stage it became more able to harness greater and greater energies.
When it was first created, the Repeater was 6 solar masses (6 times the Sun's mass). Today it's much bigger.
Scientists had to declassify it from the "black hole" category as it wasn't sucking physical matter in (accreting) to grow. It was "just" growing, so they didn't know what it actually is.

But the Repeater is so strong, that I believe might be compared to it. Maybe somewhat weaker, still.
